1. The manuscript must be an original scholarly work that has not been previously published and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
2. The manuscript must fall within the Focus and Scope of NUSALEGIS and make a clear contribution to law and legal studies.
3. The manuscript may employ doctrinal, normative, empirical, comparative, socio-legal, case-law, legal policy, or interdisciplinary approaches.
4. Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian. Authors are responsible for ensuring clarity, academic language quality, grammar, and consistency.
5. The manuscript should normally contain approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including tables, figures, notes, and references.
6. The manuscript must be submitted in an editable Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. OpenOffice or RTF files may also be accepted by the submission system.
7. Authors should use the official NUSALEGIS Article Template when preparing their manuscripts.
8. All authors listed in the manuscript must have made a substantive contribution to the research and must approve the final version submitted to the journal.

1. Title

The title should be concise, informative, specific, and accurately reflect the main legal issue examined in the manuscript. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and overly broad expressions.

2. Author Information

Provide the full name of each author, institutional affiliation, country, and email address. The corresponding author must be clearly identified. Authors are encouraged to provide their ORCID identifiers.

3. Abstract

The abstract should contain approximately 150–250 words and briefly describe the background or legal problem, objective, research method, principal findings, and conclusion or implication of the study.

4. Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords representing the central concepts, legal fields, or issues examined in the manuscript.

5. Introduction

The introduction should explain the background, legal problem, current state of knowledge, relevant previous studies, research gap, novelty or contribution, research questions, and objectives of the study.

6. Research Method

Authors must clearly describe the research approach, types and sources of legal materials or empirical data, methods of data or legal-material collection, and analytical techniques used in the study.

For normative or doctrinal research, authors should identify the relevant approaches, such as the statutory approach, conceptual approach, case approach, comparative approach, historical approach, or other appropriate legal approaches.

7. Results and Discussion

This section should present the principal findings and provide a critical legal analysis of those findings. Arguments should be supported by relevant legislation, legal principles, court decisions, scholarly literature, empirical evidence where applicable, and other authoritative sources.

The discussion should not merely describe legal rules. Authors are expected to demonstrate critical analysis, interpretation, comparison with previous studies, and the scholarly contribution of the research.

8. Conclusion

The conclusion should directly address the research questions and summarize the principal findings without simply repeating the discussion. Recommendations or implications for legal policy, legal reform, practice, or future research may be included where relevant.

9. Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments are optional and may include recognition of funding institutions, research assistance, or other contributions that do not qualify for authorship.

10. References

The reference list must contain only sources cited in the manuscript. Authors should prioritize relevant, authoritative, and recent academic sources, particularly peer-reviewed journal articles.

NUSALEGIS uses the APA Style, 7th Edition as the general reference style for academic sources. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

Academic Sources

Authors should prioritize peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, authoritative institutional reports, and primary legal sources. Where available, DOI or permanent URLs should be provided.

Legal Sources

Legislation, regulations, international agreements, and court decisions should be cited consistently using their complete official identification.

• Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
• Every table and figure must have a clear and informative title or caption.
• The source of data or adapted material must be acknowledged where applicable.
• Tables and figures must be referred to and discussed in the main text.
• Authors must obtain permission for copyrighted material reproduced from another source where required.
• Images and figures should be of sufficient resolution for publication.

All submitted manuscripts must represent the authors' original scholarly work. Authors must properly acknowledge ideas, quotations, data, legal analysis, and materials derived from other sources.

NUSALEGIS may screen manuscripts using plagiarism or similarity-detection software before proceeding to peer review. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, inappropriate duplication, fabricated citations, or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected.

• Only individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions should be listed as authors.
• All authors must approve the manuscript before submission.
• Any potential conflict of interest should be disclosed.
• Funding sources must be acknowledged where applicable.
• Research involving human participants must comply with appropriate ethical requirements and applicable laws.
• Fabrication, falsification, manipulation of data, plagiarism, and duplicate publication are prohibited.

Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the content of a scholarly publication.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, legal interpretation, and integrity of all content submitted to NUSALEGIS.

When generative artificial intelligence tools have been substantially used in manuscript preparation, authors should transparently disclose such use in accordance with the journal's editorial policy.
