A. WHAT IS ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGE (APC)?
Article Processing Charge (APC) is a fee charged to authors or their funders to cover the costs associated with publishing an article in an open access journal. The APC model ensures that:
- Readers have free access - No barriers to reading, downloading, or sharing research
- Authors retain copyright - Articles are published under Creative Commons licenses (CC BY 4.0)
- Journal operations are sustainable - Costs of editorial work, infrastructure, and services are covered
- Research reaches wider audience - Increased visibility and citation potential
